Rita Pinto

PhD.

Rita Pinto is a researcher at the Cardiovascular Center of the University of Lisbon (CCUL), an Exercise Physiologist at the Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Center of the University of Lisbon (CRECUL), and a visiting assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL). She is the coordinator of the Exercise and Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Laboratory at CCUL and a member of the scientific council of the RISE Laboratory – Health Research Network.

She completed a degree in Sports Science (2010) and a Master’s degree in Exercise and Health (2012) at the Faculty of Human Motricity of the University of Lisbon (FMH-UL), having completed a Postgraduate course in Cardiac Rehabilitation and the EAPC Practical Course in Preventive Cardiology – Cardiovascular Prevention Rehabilitation, Sports Cardiology and Exercise.

She received her Ph.D. in Physical Activity and Health from FMH-UL in 2019. To date, she has 15 scientific articles published in journals and has signed a book chapter. She has presented more than 65 papers at national and international conferences.

In research, she focuses on cardiovascular disease, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise physiology, stress testing, assessment and prescription of physical exercise, physical activity, and sedentary behavior.
